I absolutely love birthday surprises. Especially if I'm included in the planning. And even more so when they're a complete success!
Today, we managed to surprise one of our college friends, Soon, for his 20th birthday that happened 2 days back. Bought a cake (Chocolate Cream Cheese!) and met up at the bus stop so that we could catch a bus to his house.
We waited for about 40 minutes for the bus to arrive? From about 9.30am till 10.10am. *sigh* The Malaysian buses don't really follow any fixed schedule. I guess it would be kinda hard to stay true to the timetable as there's the jam to handle in the morning and evening. Wish the public transport was better though. But I'm thankful that we even have public transport =)
So yeah, since it was our first time heading there, we were quite clueless as to where the place is and what bus to take. Fortunately, one of our friends, Ant, lives close to him, so he guided us there. Skipping the bus drama, we got to the apartment around 10.30am =)
Ant already knew where he lived (having followed him yesterday, haha) so he lead us to the front gate where we lighted the candles and rang the bell. That sleepyhead took so long to answer the door; Ant had to call him with the pretence that he wanted to ask Soon something, haha.
Anyway, he was REALLY surprised. And he JUST woke up too! Which made it even better because I caught his bed hair on video! Hahaha. I'm gonna try to edit it as soon as i can (in about two weeks time). I've to get a head-start on my video editing or i'll be lost sometime in the distant future when i'm doing my assignments ._.
Long story short, we ate the cake and walked back to have lunch at Manhattan Fish Market (because they have a promotion! =D). Now, i don't always eat there, but after the service that they gave us, i'm not sure if i want to go back there again.
Okay maybe i'm being a little oversensitive here. The staff weren't rude to us, but they weren't exactly super polite either. It seems to me that they're a little impatient. It's not really much of a big deal, but it was a slightly unpleasant experience for all of us. The food was alright though. Not the best, but it was edible =)
So we ended the day with a happy note of promises to go out sometime soon. Yays.
Tata,
Wenzes
